MINUTES <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />NOVEMBER 14, 1991 <br />RECREATION The Commission was informed that at its November 13th <br />DIRECTOR meeting, the Council voted to advertise for a full -time <br />POSITION Parks and Recreation Director. A salary scale of <br />$26,000 to $34,000 was established. The matter has <br />been referred back to the advisory committee, however, <br />for a recommendation on the retention of one or both of <br />the Assistant Director positions as well as fee <br />schedule for recreation activities. <br />The Commission discussed the issue of consolidation of <br />recreation program with either Roseville or Maplewood. <br />DeLonais noted that there was concern with loss of <br />Little Canada identify, however, this consolidation is <br />already occurring under the present program without <br />loss of identify. DeLonais reported that the City of <br />Roseville, in their proposal, has indicated that loss <br />of identify would not occur. <br />Garske felt that cities must look at working together, <br />and felt that consolidation of services is something <br />that should be considered. <br />COMP PLAN Keis asked if there were any plans to update the City's <br />Comprehensive Plan. <br />DeLonais agreed that it should be updated, however, it <br />was pointed out that this is a very expensive process. <br />ATTENDANCE DeLonais stated that he wanted it noted in the minutes <br />that Mr. Herkenhoff arrived late to last month's <br />meeting due to his requirement at a school function, <br />and was late to this evening's meeting because of <br />parent /teacher conferences. <br />ADJOURN Keis recommended that the meeting be adjourned. <br />Motion seconded by Drabik. <br />Motion carried 7 - 0. <br />There being no further business, the meeting was <br />adjourned at 8:50 P.M. <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />Kathy lanzer <br />Recording Secretary <br />Page 10 <br />
