Hanson <br />The city hall and fire station have been making good <br />progress during the past few weeks. According to our <br />Construction Manager, we are still on (under) budget for <br />both projects. I will try to have a more definite <br />completion date for both projects available for our <br />meeting. <br />Also, attached is a copy of another proposal request I have <br />approved relative to the fire station project. I would ask <br />that the Council also approve this PR at Wednesday's <br />meeting. <br />Another item I would like the Council to approve is the <br />installation of a suspended ceiling in the old Council <br />Chambers which will become the new clerical office area. <br />This request originated from my inquiry of the architects <br />to evaluate the need for ceiling fans in that area to <br />improve heating and cooling efficiencies within this area. <br />Given the high ceiling, it was felt that ceiling fans may <br />help redistribute the heat and thereby hold down energy <br />costs. Based on their review of this matter, they <br />suggested that instead of ceiling fans, we should consider <br />a suspended ceiling in that area. <br />Upon review of this suggestion, it is my recommendation <br />that we proceed with installation of suspended ceiling <br />based on the following: <br />* The cost to undertake this improvement is only <br />$269. While we are adding a suspended ceiling and <br />additional sprinkling capabilities, we are saving <br />Page 45 <br />
