HANSON, Administrator
515 Little Canada Road
Little Canada, MN 55117
612.484 -2177
FAX: 612. 484.4538
CITY OF LITTLE CANADA
RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA
MEMORANDUM
TO: Mayor Hanson and Members of the City Council
FROM: Joel Hanson, City Administrator
DATE: January 4, 1991
RE: Insurance Issues
Council Member LaValle and I reviewed and bound insurance coverage
for the City for 1991. Coverage was bound with the League of
Minnesota Cities' Insurance Trust at the following costs:
Property Coverage $16,246
Inland Marine 2,000
General Liability 23,694
Errors & Omissions 6,584
Automobile Liability 1,993
UN /UIM 96
Automobile Physical Damage 582
Crime Coverage 225
Fidelity Bond 992
Umbrella Coverage W /Non- Waiver 8,974
Boiler and Machinery 1,056
Total $62,442
MAVOR
Michael Fahey
COUNCIL
Beverly Scalze
Bill Blesener
Rick Collova
Jim LaValle
This total, given the fact that the Workers' Compensation premium is
not included would push us over budget amounts. However, it does not
include the rebates payable to us from the LMCIT for over - payment of
premium in previous years. With the rebate, we should be able to
attain budgeted amounts.
Issues that need to be resolved involve the following:
Included in the above summary was $8,974 for Umbrella
Coverage. As we have discussed previously, the City Council
should determine if they want to continue to carry an
Umbrella policy. Attached is a memo dated December 1, 1989
from the League of Minnesota Cities regarding Umbrella
Coverage and the waiver of monetary limits on tort
liability. This memo provides a good summary as to the
Pg °'19
