Hanson, City Administrator
RE: Dedication of Parcel to the City
MAYOR
Raymond G. Hanson
COUNCIL
Beverly Scalze
Bill Blesener
Rick Collova
Jim LaValle
ADMINISTRATOR
Joel R. Hanson
Mr. James Boyd has contacted the City regarding his interest in
donating a piece of property to the City. Attached is a map showing
the parcel, which is a long, triangular- shaped parcel lying between
Jackson Street and the railroad tracks.
Ramsey County has set a market value of $1,100 for
taxes payable in 1991 were $66.06. In researching
have determined that property taxes on this parcel
the years 1988, 1989, 1990 and 1991. This amounts
$300.00 in delinquent taxes.
It has been indicated to us that by accepting this donation,
delinquent taxes would be brought current. Staff does not see any
other value to the City in owning this property, other than to get
delinquent taxes current. We have contacted Ramsey County and have
been informed that this property will probably come up for tax
forfeiture auction during 1992. However, the property owner still
has the opportunity to redeem the property through payment of the
delinquent taxes.
Therefore, staff would recommend to accept the donation subject to
current and delinquent taxes being paid in full and payment of all
costs associated with the transfer to be borne by Mr. Boyd. Without
these conditions, the acceptance would not make any sense to us.
this parcel, and
County records, we
are delinquent for
to a little over
Page 34
