MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />March 2, 2006 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Parks & Recreation Commission <br />of the City of Little Canada, Minnesota was held on the 2"d day of March, 2006 in the Council <br />Chambers of the City Center located at 515 Little Canada Road East in said City. <br />Chair Ginger Sackett Glaser called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. and the following members <br />of the Commission were present: <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: Ms. Ginger Sackett Glaser, Chair <br />Ms. Pam Davis <br />Mr. David Gray <br />Mr. Tony Mans <br />Ms. Clara Neis <br />MEMBERS ABSENT: Ms. Molly Boss <br />Mr. Kevin Steinert <br />ALSO PRESENT: Mr. Jim Morelan, Parks & Recreation Director <br />Mr. Bill Sanders, Parks Consultant <br />Ms. Kris Pechman, Recording Secretary <br />WELCOME On behalf of the entire Commission, Sackett Glaser welcomed Pam Davis as a member of the <br />Parks & Recreation Commission. <br />MINUTES Gray recommended that t{te minutes front the meeting held on February 7, 2006 be approved <br />as submitted. <br />Motion seconded by Maus. <br />Motion carried 5 - 0. <br />GOAL- Mans stated that he represented the Parks & Recreation Commission at the goal-setting session <br />SETTING held on February 15, 2006. This year, none of the "parks" items were identified in the final list <br />SESSION for action. He felt that this was due to the fact that the parks items were tasks that would <br />ultimately happen even if they did not make the list. Two items that were identified, but that did <br />not make the final list, were televising the commission meetings and revising the pay for the <br />commissioners. <br />NADEAU Sanders reviewed a proposed plan for adding an observation deck to Nadeau Wildlife Area. <br />PARK DECK He suggested that the existing walkway to the playground area could be extended down to an <br />observation deck overlooking the wetland. Future plans could also include a walkway extension <br />from the deck to a peninsula that runs through the wetland down to Demont Avenue. Abridge <br />would need to be built across approximately 20 feet of water. He indicated that the walkway <br />would flood if heavy rain fell. Sanders suggested holding a neighborhood meeting to discuss <br />Page 1 of 4 <br />
