Hanson
COUNCIL
Beverly Scalze
Bill Blesener
Rick Co!lova
Jim LaValle
ADMINISTRATOR
Joel R. Hanson
TO: Mayor Hanson and Members of the City Council
FROM: Joel Hanson, City Administrator
DATE: April 3, 1992
RE: MSA Street Designations
Attached is a letter from our City Engineers regarding the
redesignation of County Road B2 and Viking Drive as they
relate to Municipal State Aid (MSA). The purpose of this
redesignation is based on two factors. They are:
1. The City had some excess mileage that allows us to
designate additional City streets as MSA. After
reviewing our streets with the City Engineer, it
was felt the Viking Drive would be the most
appropriate designation given it's relatively poor
condition and traffic volumes.
2. The reason we are changing the designation of
County Road B2 is to allow us to have enough
mileage to fully designate Viking Drive. Another
factor is that should the consolidated roadway
plan go through as proposed by the Study
Commission, County Road B2 would be turned back to
the City and it would receive aid designation
under the assumptions of the Study Commission's
report. Furthermore, County Road B2 was improved
recently and is in fairly good condition.
Therefore, it is recommendation of staff that we adopt the
attached resolutions and make the changes as indicated.
Page 9
