The RTB has recently completed its Vision for Transit, a comprehensive
transit planning and policy program that describes the Impact and role that transit will
play In the Twin Cities over the next ten years. An Integral part of the Vision Is the creation
of transit hubs that will be served by community based transit services.
Rosedale Is one such hub, and a newly designed transit center was completed earlier
this month. One of the transit programs that serves this hub is the Roseville Area
Circulator, the Twin Cities' first community based transit service. The 'Circulator'
provides fixed -route service along five routes, all converging simultaneously at
Rosedale. In 1992, the RTB has very important changes planned for the Circulator,
Including new, accessible vehicles and schedule changes designed to Improve
efficiency and cost- effectiveness.
We are very eager to share this information and our Vision for Transit with the Little
Canada City Council. Our brief presentation will provide your council members with
Information that is both relevant to your community and to the entire Twin Cities area. At
your convenience, we would like to arrange a time during your regular council meeting
or during a council work session. if that would be more benenficial. I will contact your
office shortly to discuss this meeting in more detail.
Cordia
Dd 'Murray
Project Manager
cc: Michael Ehrlichmann, RTB Chair
Page 9
An Equal Opportunity Employer
