Hanson
COUNCIL
Beverly Scalze
Bill Blesener
Rick Collova
Jim LaValle
ADMINISTRATOR
Joel R. Hanson
Mr. Mark Malsam will be appearing at Wednesday's meeting
to talk about the status of the Country Drive
development. I have kept him apprised as to the status of
Loren Brueggemann's project. Due to the fact that the
process has moved very slowly, Mr. Malsam is asking if the
City can get another developer involved in the project. I
have informed him that the City would consider another
developer as long as the goals of the development district
are met. However, I think it is unlikely that another
developer would be interested given the financial market
and their unfamiliarity with the project.
Mr. Brueggemann has informed me that the partnership which
controls Kandice Heights I and II is being split up. His
associates will control Kandice Heights I. Loren will
control Kandice Heights II and subsequent developments.
The financing for Kandice Heights III is in place
according to Mr. Brueggemann.
Loren has also informed us that he will be correcting
deficiencies in the Kandice Heights II project that we had
previously discussed. Should evidence of these
corrections not be visible by Wednesday night, I would
like the Council to direct the Building Inspector, working
in conjunction with the Ramsey County Sheriff's
Department, to issue the appropriate citations for the
violations of ordinances which may exist. Loren has
acknowledged his deficiencies in this regard. He has also
been informed that actions now speak louder than words.
JRH:kpv
Page 19
