515 Little Canada Road
(612) 484 -2177
991/74 `CJaWalk
, Little Canada, MN 55117 -1600
/ FAX: (612) 484 -4538
MEMORANDUM
TO: Mayor Hanson and Members of the City Council
FROM: Joel Hanson, City Administrator
DATE: May 6, 1992
RE: Future St. Jude Medical Storm Sewer Assessments
MAYOR
Raymond G. Hanson
COUNCIL
Beverly Scalze
Bill Blesener
Rick Collova
Jim LaValle
ADMINISTRATOR
Joel R. Hanson
St. Jude has asked us to prepare a letter indicating that
they would not be assessed for future storm sewer
improvements on their property on County Road B should
they install the emergency overflow outlet drainage system
that we required as part of our approval process. The
reason for their request is that Maplewood has done a
feasibility study that indicates the potential for a storm
sewer line on County Road B from Highway 35 running to the
west. It should be noted that Maplewood has indicated
that it is doubtful whether this project would be
constructed. It is also my opinion that it would be
questionable as to any benefits received by St. Jude
should they construct the overflow outlet system.
I will be discussing this matter with the City Attorney
and drafting a letter which will indicate that they will
not be assessed for future storm sewer improvements given
the fact that they are addressing all drainage generated
by their property by existing or to be constructed
systems. This letter will be presented for your approval
at Wednesday's meeting to be forwarded to St. Jude as part
of the completion of the development process. Should you
have any comments or questions regarding this matter,
please let me know.
JRH:kpv
Page 14
