Hanson
As you know, St. Joseph's Society for Charity and Little Canada
Charity Plus donated funds towards the Little Canada School project.
Currently, there is a balance of $14,656.02 in that fund. Of that
amount, $5,072 is principal and the remaining interest earnings.
I have discussed the remaining funds with both St. Joseph's Society
and Little Canada Charity Plus. It is their feeling that the
remaining principal amount should be used towards a memorial plaque
and planter or monument at the old Fire Station. However, Little
Canada Charity indicated that they would not oppose the use of these
funds for something else if the City Council felt the need was
stronger elsewhere. Both charities have indicated that they do not
object to the interest earnings being used for other capital
improvement items.
At this time, staff would like
transfer the remaining balance
School Project Fund #407 -88 -27
with the understanding that $5
toward a memorial at the old F
to request Council
of $14,656.02 from
to the 10% Capital
,072 of that amount
ire Station.
Page 59
a ,o
authorization to
the Little Canada
Improvement Fund,
will be designated
