OCT -23 -1993 10 :06 FROM SLIEENEY BORER & O'=TROId TO LITTLE CAMRIN <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 815 OF <br />THE CITY CODE OF THE CITY OF LITTLE CANADA <br />REGULATING LAWFUL GAMBLING TO LIMIT <br />THE AMOUNT OF RENT WHICH MAY BE PAID BY <br />CHARITABLE GAMBLING ORGANIZATIONS FOR THE CONDUCT OF BINGO <br />The City Council of the City of Little Canada ordains: <br />Section 1. <br />F . 04. 04 <br />Section 815.050 of the Municipal Code of the City of Little <br />Canada is hereby added to read as follows: <br />815.050. RESTRICTIONS FOR GAMBLING ON LEASED PREMISES. <br />(A) For the purposes of this section, the terms set forth <br />below are defined as follows: <br />(1) "Leased Premises" means a building or place of <br />business, or a portion of a building or place of <br />business, that is leased in its entirety by a gambling <br />organization for the sole purpose of conducting lawful <br />gambling. <br />(2) "Rent" means the total consideration for the use <br />or occupation of property and shall include all <br />payments made by the licensed organization to the <br />lessor, and any payments for utilities, trash removal, <br />parking lot maintenance, property taxes and insurance, <br />and general building maintenance. <br />(B) The amount of rent an organization may pay for the <br />conduct of bingo and all other gambling activities <br />which occur during that bingo occasion on the leased <br />premises shall not exceed $300.00 or the maximum rent <br />permitted under Minnesota Statutes or Rules for leased <br />premises of not more than 12,000 square feet, <br />whichever is greater. If the organization is a <br />sublessee, these restrictions also apply to the <br />sublessee. <br />(C) Limitations as to rent to be paid by an organization <br />set forth in Section 815.050(8) shall be effective for <br />leases entered into, renewed or amended after the <br />effective date of that section. <br />-1- <br />Page 57 <br />
