EXTEND CENTERVILLE ROAD PARKING AREA
NORTH TO TRAIL
ADDITIONAL PARKING SPACES = 70
ESTIMATED COST: 70 @ $900 /ea = $ 63,000.00
ADVANTAGES: 1. Parking on the Centerville Road side relates
to the main park entrance and, therefore, is
easily recognizable by the public.
2. Provides convenient parking to major park
facilities, including the softball and soccer
fields, the play area and the tennis and
basketball courts.
3. Security and maintenance are easily monitored.
4. Expansion fits with the future park plans.
5. Provides most of the projected future parking
need for the park.
DISADVANTAGES: 1.
2.
3.
Very objectionable to adjacent neighbors.
Special soil correction and drainage concerns
will need to be addressed.
Costs are much higher than normal.
4. May require an additional driveway
Centerville Road.
5. Large number of cars arriving and
from the same location.
access to
departing
6. The long length of the parking lot may cause
problems with speed and safety within the lot.
7. The large expanse of asphalt is undesirable
from an aesthetic point of view.
8. Extensive tree removal required.
Page 10
