ESTIMATED
RANKING DEPARTMENT ITEM COST
Public Works
Public Works
Public Works
Public Works
Portable Floor Hoist
Used for changing oil & working
underneath vehicles. The hoist
enables employees to get trucks
off the ground so employees can
work safely underneath. Using
the hoist, the employees do not
have to lay on the floor to work
underneath. In addition, it will
make performing repairs safer and
allow them to be done in a more
timely and efficient manner.
Portable Copy Machine
The copy machine at the garage is
no longer operating and is so old
that there are no parts available
for it. It was the old copy
machine from City Hall. While the
machine was operational, it
received much use at the garage.
In the middle of the night when
Public Works needs copies to take
out to the job site, it would save
them a great amount of time if they
had a copy machine at the garage.
Flammable Storage Cabinets
These are needed for both the
Parks and Public Works Depts. to
bring us into OSHA compliance for
paint cans.
Vibratory Asphalt Roller
The one we have now is 21 years
old and needs an extensive amount
of work. The drums are worn to the
point that it is not compacting the
asphalt properly and it has become
a hazard to operate. The drums for
replacement for a model that old
would not be cost - effective to
replace. The cost for two new
drums would be approximately $2,600.
This does not include bearing and
shaft work. To overhaul the roller,
it will cost $10,000 - 11,000. A new
roller comparable to what we now have
would be $15,500- 16,500.
-4-
Page 52
4,000
1,500
1,100
10,000
