515 Little Canada Road, Little Canada, MN 55117 -1600
(612) 484 -2177 / FAX: (612) 484 -4538
April 21, 1993
TO: Mayor Hanson and Members of the City Council
FROM: Kathy Glanzer, Administrative Assistant
RE: Rezoning of Back Portion of County Road C Properties
Abutting Rosewood Drive
MAYOR
Raymond G. Hanson
COUNCIL
Beverly Scalze
Jim LaValle
Steve Morelan
Bob Pedersen
ADMINISTRATOR
Joel R. Hanson
Attached are copies of minutes of Council meetings at which the
Boosalis property and the back portion of the County Road C properties
were rezoned from B -3 to R -1. I have also attached a map showing the
current zoning of the area.
At the October 25, 1989 meeting, at which the Council rezoned the back
portion of the County Road C properties to R -1, there was opposition
to the rezoning on the part of the property owners. The Council
discussed the fact that it was necessary to rezone the back portion of
these properties abutting Rosewood Drive to R -1 in order to make the
residential development project work. The Council also discussed that
there would be enough remaining B -3 property abutting County Road C so
that at some time in the future these properties could be combined and
developed as B -3. Comments were made that the rezoning would not
constitute a taking, and that value would remain with the B -3 zoning
for the property abutting County Road C.
Page 50
