Hanson
COUNCIL
Beverly Scalze
Jim LaValle
Steve Morelan
Bob Pedersen
ADMINISTRATOR
Joel R. Hanson
At the workshop meeting held with the Planning Commission
on April 28, 1993, I indicated that I would put together a
list of potential funding sources for an update of the
Comprehensive Plan. The City Planner estimated this
project would cost approximately $17,000. My list of
sources is as follows:
* General Capital Improvement Fund. Sufficient
funds exist in the account to handle this
expenditure. My only comment in this regard is
that the Council may want to prepare a prioritized
listing of potential expenditures from this fund
to ensure that our most important needs are being
net with this limited amount of money.
* 1O% Gambling Capital Improvement Fund. Previously
we had considered an estimated $6,000 expenditure
from this source. The fund could handle the
entire $17,000, but that would limit the amount
available for other projects. Again,
prioritization is needed. Also, we could consider
using only a portion of this source of funds
combined with another to cover the entire cost of
the project.
* Budget for the Expenditure in the 1994 Budget as a
Capital Improvement. Depending on how the budget
document develops, this source of funding would be
on a one -time basis. It would impact our tax
levy.
Page 108
