515 Little Canada Road, Little Canada, MN 55117 -1600
(612) 484 -2177 / FAX: (612) 484 -4538
July 7, 1993
MAYOR
Raymond G. Hanson
COUNCIL
Beverly Scalze
Jim LaValle
Steve Morelan
Bob Pedersen
ADMINISTRATOR
Joel R. Hanson
TO: Members of the Little Canada Planning Commission
FROM: Ken Wehrle, Little Canada Parks and Recreation Commission
RE: Fredrickshaven Second Addition Plat Approval
At the June 17, 1993 Parks and Recreation Commission meeting, we
recommended that a donation of land be pursued for the park land
dedication with regards to the Fredrickshaven Addition. Since that
meeting, the owner and developer have presented a proposal to donate
a combination of land and money which I feel warrants review by our
Commission. They have also made me aware that they are seeking
preliminary and final plat approval at your July 8th meeting.
In order to help facilitate the process, I have agreed that the plat
plan presented for your approval should reflect the latest proposed
donation of land - 20 foot right -of -way between Lots 5 and 6 and all
of Outlot B. (Details of the money donation have yet to be worked
out but, depending on the cost, could include construction of an
initial portion of board walk and observation platform.) I feel that
this proposed park land dedication is a good one for the City and is
in keeping with our overall parks plan. However, if after your
review, approval is given, I would ask that it be granted subject to
review and approval of this proposal by the Parks and Recreation
Commission at our July 15th meeting.
Thank you.
cc: Mayor Hanson
Council Members
Parks and Recreation Commission Members
Bill Sanders, Parks Consultant
Page 65
