As per our discussion at the site on Tuesday, August 17, it is our understanding that you
wish to remove the existing Burger King structure and parking lot surfacing and replace the
existing development with parking facilities to supplement the existing parking facilities for
Rainbow Foods. You are also looking at installing an acceleration / deceleration lane off
of Rice Street.
We recommend that you solicit the services of a registered engineer in preparing a site
Layout and detailed construction drawings and specifications for the proposed improvements.
Site drainage is a concern that you must address as well as landscaping of the site. Also,
a hydrant exists that must be relocated if the new access is to be utilized. You may contact
Dave Harris, Public Works Superintendent, for utility as built drawings.
Rice Street could also be impacted by installation of an acceleration /deceleration lane and
change of access onto Rice Street. You are to contact MnDOT for input on their
requirements for acceleration /deceleration lane and acquire a access permit from the
MnDOT office.
You are to meet the requirements of the Planning Conunission in preparing preliminary and
final drawings for our review. Please contact me if you have any questions or if I can be of
any further assistance.
Yours very truly,
BONESTROO, ROSENE, ANDERLIK & ASSOCIATES, INC.
