Hanson
COUNCIL
Beverly Scalze
Jim LaValle
Steve Morelan
Bob Pedersen
ADMINISTRATOR
Joel R. Hanson
Enclosed is a revised assessment roll for the
Vanderbie /Allen project. You will note that the amount of
water main assessment has been reduced slightly in that it
was discovered that one service connection was omitted in
the roll presented to you previously. Therefore, any
properties with a water service connection will see a
slightly reduced assessment over what was provided in the
notice to them.
The City costs associated with this project are higher than
initially anticipated due to the street reconstruction
policy. If you will recall, we were proposing an
assessment rate of approximately $75.77 per lineal foot.
With the new street reconstruction policy and due to
excellent bid prices, the rate we are proposing to assess
at this time is $42.24 per lineal foot. Water main was
initially proposed at just over $2,300 per lot at the
improvement hearing. This amount has now been reduced to
$2,281 per lot based on actual costs.
One objection has been received from the Becker's (lots 52
and 52a). We would propose offering them a deferment
option if they have no intention of developing their lot.
(The deferment option is listed on the attached sheet. You
will also note that they had applied for a simple
subdivision of their lot previously. That information is
enclosed for your review.)
Milan Moravetz at 476 Allen Avenue has also asked for a
reduction in his assessment associated with driveway
restoration. The Engineer's have calculated this amount to
equal $74.16. This is somewhat less than what was
requested in Mr. Moravetz' letter to us.
.,o
Page 11
