Hanson
COUNCIL
Beverly Scalze
Jim LaValle
Steve Morelan
Bob Pedersen
ADMINISTRATOR
Joel R. Hanson
Since our goal setting session was held, Kathy and I have
done some additional checking on the cost for doing a City
survey. According to Decision Resources, Inc., we could
anticipate a survey to cost approximately $7,000 to
$10,000. Depending on the design of the survey, this
budgeted amount should yield us a product which meets our
needs. Mr. Bill Morris of Decision Resources has indicated
his willingness to make a presentation to the Council to
discuss the benefits of a survey. I would recommend this
to the Council in order that we all have a clear
understanding of what this expenditure could do for us.
Regarding the funding of this undertaking, I would propose
the use of our General Capital Improvement Fund as the
source. We will list this expenditure in that document as
a top priority for funding in 1994.
My recommendation would be to budget these funds and commit
to undertaking the survey program at this time. Further
research will then be done to develop our survey program.
JRH:kpv
Page 55
