515 Little Canada Road, Little Canada, MN 55117 -1600
(612) 484 -2177 / FAX: (612) 484 -4538
December 10, 1993
MAYOR
Raymond G. Hanson
COUNCIL
Beverly Scalze
Jim LaVaile
Steve Morelan
Bob Pedersen
ADMINISTRATOR
Joel R. Hanson
TO: Property Owners within 350 Feet of the Potential
Deer Harvest Area
FROM: Joel Hanson, City Administrator
RE: City Issuance of Deer Harvest Permit(s)
As you may know, the City of Little Canada has been
approached regarding the amendment of our ordinance whereby
the discharge of a bow and arrow for the purpose of
eliminating the deer herd in the Centerville Road /County
Road D area would be allowed. This request would be for
the truckfarming areas where the existing deer population
has been causing significant property damage. (See attached
map)
Due to the fact that your property is within 350 feet of
this area, we wanted to notify you that this topic will be
discussed at the council meeting scheduled for December 16,
1993. We would assume this topic would be discussed at
approximately 8:00 p.m.
What is being proposed is the issuance of a special permit
by the City to qualified archers who would safely proceed
to reduce the deer herd in this limited area. This process
would occur in compliance with Department of Natural
Resources' requirements and with permission of the property
owner where the hunt will occur.
Should you have any comments or concerns regarding this
matter, you are invited to attend next Thursday's council
meeting. If there are any questions I can answer in the
meantime, please feel free to give me a call.
cc: Mayor & City Council
JRH /mbg
Page 28
