Hanson COUNCIL Beverly Scalze Jim LaValle Steve Morelan Bob Pedersen ADMINISTRATOR Joel R. Hanson The final copy of the proposed 1994 budget will be distributed on Monday. The only significant change that you should be aware of is the fact that I increased the amount of 1993 reserves used to help buy down the 1994 levy by $3,291. This was due to a miscalculation on my part of the amount needed to obtain a 0% levy. I chose that method for achieving the 0% levy based on discussions that occurred at the Council workshop on November 30. If another alternative is desired, that change can be made at Thursday's meeting. Resolutions certifying the tax levies as well as amending the debt levies to correspond with the budget document are enclosed for your consideration. These resolutions would enact the levies as discussed to -date. I am also asking that a motion be passed ratifying which salary recommendations previously discussed. While we have indicated an agreement with the salary schedules as proposed, I do not have a definite resolution establishing the 1994 salaries at those amounts. This is needed for the Auditors' files. Attached is the 10% capital improvement material from the last ranking session. The Council had recommended this be discussed at one of our December meetings. The decision as to how to implement this recommendation is at your discretion. The last item that needs to be discussed is the scheduling of capital improvement review workshops. By adopting the budget, we are only approving the levy from the General Capital Improvement Fund. These motions are not meant to Page 70a
