Enclosed is also a copy of my resume.
As way of a brief introduction, I am married and have one daughter that is 2 years old. My
wife and I moved to Little Canada 51/2 years ago. We live directly across from Pioneer Park
and have spent many happy hours there since its development.
I grew up in Red Wing, Minnesota which has a population between 12,000 - 13,000. I have
found that Little Canada, even with its close connections to our large metropolis, has
retained the important values of a small, close -knit community. I greatly respect and
appreciate these values.
I have also been involved in athletics. In high school I participated in basketball, football
and baseball. In college at Hamline University, I continued to play basketball and baseball.
I remain a firm believer that children benefit from participating.
I have worked for West Publishing Company for 131/2 years. I am currently a manager for
Computer Software Development and responsible for approximately 150 professional
software developers. While working at West, I completed 4 years of law school at William
Mitchell College of Law by attrpding their evening classes. I earned my Juris Doctor degree
in 1990 and am a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association.
I've enjoyed my time in Little Canada and I believe the Park and Recreation Commission
has much to be proud of as I see the park system develop. I'd like very much to participate
in its future development.
I'd be very happy to answer any questions that you or the council would like to ask.
Sincerely, / l
/ .
