Hanson
COUNCIL
Beverly Scalze
Jim LaValle
Steve Morelan
Bob Pedersen
ADMINISTRATOR
Joel R. Hanson
As a result of the joint workshop with the Vadnais Heights City
Council a committee was proposed to be established for the purpose of
reviewing development proposal options and to begin drafting a joint
powers agreement relating to the Mitchell property. The committee
was to be structured to include two members of each City Council, one
representative from Parks from each City, and one or two property
owners. We will need to ratify this concept and appoint
representatives for it to proceed.
Also attached for your information is a copy of a draft revision of
the City's Shoreland Ordinance. Please note that the recent
development proposal that Pratt Homes submitted for the Mitchell
property was evaluated using these proposed regulations. The City
Planner indicated that the key issues raised by the revised Shoreland
Ordinance are:
*The PUD process under the new ordinance is more exacting,
density is limited - 6- plexes would not be allowed;
*The first 37 1/2 feet of shoreland must be left in
a natural state;
*More detail is required on how storm water would be controlled;
*The amount of impervious surface allowed is reduced.
Page 44
