Hanson <br />Last year, we attempted to purchase a used plow truck from <br />the City of Apple Valley, but we were unsuccessful. An <br />opportunity is again available due to the fact that the <br />City of Roseville will be selling two plow trucks at <br />auction. Given the condition of these vehicles, both would <br />be improvements over our existing two dump trucks. <br />In this year's capital improvement budget, we had planned <br />for up to a $25,000 expenditure for the purchase of a plow <br />truck(s). We feel we may be able to buy both of these <br />trucks for that amount or less. In addition, we would then <br />sell our two existing trucks thereby keeping us well within <br />budgeted amounts. <br />The feasibility of this endeavor is not fully understood at <br />this point in time. To give us flexibility in obtaining <br />the best deal for the City, we would like the authority to <br />bid up to the budgeted amount for both trucks with the <br />understanding our existing trucks would be sold if we are <br />successful. It should also be understood that with both of <br />these trucks, we would be able to plow the entire City <br />thereby saving additional budgeted dollars. <br />JRH:kpv <br />Pam" 52 <br />
