202. ADVISORY PLANNING COMMISSION <br />202.010. ESTABLISHMENT OF COMMISSION APPOINTED MEMBERS. An Advisory <br />Planning Commission is hereby established, consisting of not more than nine (9) seven (7) members, <br />to be appointed by the City Council. <br />202.020. RESIDENT WITHOUT ELECTIVE OFFICE. Each member of the Advisory <br />Planning Commission shall be a resident of the City who does not hold any elective office. <br />202.025. APPLICANT INTERVIEW PROCESS. Applicants to the Commission shall be <br />interviewed by the Mayor, any City Council Members wishing to participate in the interview process, <br />the Chair or Vice Chair of the Commission, and the City Administrator. <br />202.030. TERM OF OFFICE, NUMBER OF TERMS, AND VACANCIES. Each member <br />shall be appointed by the Council and shall hold office until his /her successor is appointed and <br />qualified expiration of his /her term. Members shall serve for a term of three (3) years. The term of <br />Each member may serve for no more than <br />three (3) consecutive three (3) year terms. <br />In case of a vacancy during the term of office of' any member of the Commission, the City <br />Council shall appoint a new member to serve the remainder of the term. A vacancy shall exist if any <br />of the following occur: death; residence outside of the City; resignation; and disability or failure to <br />serve; or removal from office. A failure to serve shall be deemed to exist if any member is absent <br />from three consecutive meetings or is absent from four meetings in a calendar year. Commission members shall be subject to <br />removal with or without cause by a majority vote of the City Council. <br />• <br />202.040. Members of the Planning Commission may receive <br />compensation as the City Council may provide by resolution. <br />202.045. ORGANIZATION AND MEETINGS. The Mayor shall annually recommend to <br />the Council a member of the Commission to serve as Commission Chair. The Council shall then <br />appoint a Chair. The Commission shall annually elect one member to serve as Vice Chair The <br />Vice Chair shall assume the Chair's responsibilities in that person's absence. The Commission shall <br />hold at least one regular meeting each month, unless an adjustment in this meeting schedule is <br />deemed necessary. A record of Commission meetings shall be maintained and forwarded to the City <br />Council. <br />202.050. ADMINISTRATOR FOR COMMISSION. The City Administrator shall act as <br />202 -1 <br />
