COMMISSION PROCESSES <br />Arden Hills — <br />Interview Process — Interviews are recommended but not required if and date and time cannot be worked out. The <br />Mayor, Staff liaison, Council liaison, and Commission Chair conduct the interview. The Mayor then makes a <br />recommendation for appointment to the City Council. The City Council then appoints. <br />Tenn/Term Limits — 3 years. No member shall serve more than three consecutive 3 -year terns. <br />Chair and Vice Chair — Mayor appoints Chair. The Commission appoints the Vice Chair. <br />Attendance Requirement — Yes. If a member has unexcused absences from 3 consecutive meetings or a total of one - <br />third of all meetings in a calendar year, they are automatically removed without Council action. <br />Removal — Can be removed by majority vote of the Council. <br />Governed — By ordinance. <br />Falcon Heights — <br />Interview Process — No formal interview process. Mayor appoints commission members and may have a telephone <br />conversation with applicants. <br />Term /Term Limits — 3 years. No member shall serve more than two consecutive 3 -year terms. <br />Chair and Vice Chair — Elected by Commission membership. <br />Attendance Requirement — Nothing specific, but Ordinance says failure to attend meetings regularly shall be one basis <br />for removal. <br />Removal — Can be removed with or without cause by four-fifths vote of the Council. <br />Governed — By ordinance. <br />Mounds View — <br />Interview Process — No interviews. Appointed by the Council based on a recommendation of the commission from a <br />review of the applications submitted. <br />Term/Term Limits — 3 years. No member shall serve more than three 3 -year terms. <br />Chair and Vice Chair — Chair is appointed based on a recommendation from Commission membership, approved by <br />Council. Commission appoints Vice Chair. <br />Attendance Requirement — Yes. For non - attendance as provided in By -Laws adopted by the Commission, or if does <br />not attend at least 20 scheduled meetings per year, unless Commissioner has the consent of the Commission. <br />Removal — Can be removed by Council for cause upon four -fifths vote of the Council. <br />Governed — By ordinance. Commission can adopt its own By -Laws. <br />
