There is an existing single family home, a detached garage and storage <br />building, and large garage on the property. The parcel is within the Commercial PUD <br />zoning district along Rice Street. <br />Dirk Bordsen owns the property immediately adjacent to the south of the parcel at 2962 <br />Rice Street. Mr. Bordsen would like to acquire the property in question so as to <br />facilitate future redevelopment of the parcels. The applicant has signed a purchase <br />agreement for the property contingent upon gaining approval for commercial reuse of <br />the existing buildings on the property. <br />The applicant intends to make improvements to the buildings to make them suitable for <br />commercial rental. Proposed improvements for the house structure include enhancing <br />access to the building, exterior improvements, heating and cooling upgrades, and <br />installing business signage. There are two large garage /storage buildings on the <br />property and the applicant intends to make exterior improvements, install a new <br />bathroom (Building #4), and install a sprinkler system if needed for fire protection.
