515 Little Canada Road, Little Canada, MN 55117 -1600
(612) 484 -2177 / FAX: (612) 484 -4538
July 22, 1994
TO: Mayor Hanson and Members of the City Council
FROM: Joel R. Hanson, City Administrator
RE: CDBG Agreement
MAYOR
Raymond G. Hanson
COUNCIL
Beverly Scalze
Jim LaValle
Steve Morelan
Bob Pedersen
ADMINISTRATOR
Joel R. Hanson
Attached is the Community Development Block Grant Agreement for
Council approval. As you know, the City's application for a CDBG
has been approved by the County. Grant amount is $25,000. The
County has agreed to accommodate the City's request that it not
be required to increase its insurance limits over the amount
normally carried.
If the City wishes to proceed with the rennovation of the old
fire station, I would recommend the City accept the CDBG Grant
and combine those funds with City dollars in order to get the
project done, subject to insurance requirements not exceeding
current limits utilized by the City. While there are some
increased costs in complying with CDBG requirements, they won't
approach the $25,000 in grant funds. We should also keep in mind
that more City dollars ($47,000 of City funds are in CIP Budget)
may be necessary to complete the job.
I will be seeking proposals for architectural services to
finalize the scope and cost of the project.
Page 190
