Hanson <br />A request for proposals for fiscal advisory services was submitted to five <br />firms. Those firms are as follows: <br />Springsted, Inc. (Kathy Aho) Ehlers & Associates, Inc. <br />Juran & Moody (Monte Eastvold) (Rusty Fifield) <br />Fahey, Ward and Wiles (Dick Ward) Firstar Bank (Brad Farnham) <br />Each of these firms responded with a proposal. (Copies are available for <br />your review if you desire.) I have conducted my initial review and <br />concluded that each firm would appear to have the merits favoring <br />retention. I initially proposed interviewing two of the five firms. <br />However, given the differences of the respective firms, it may be to our <br />advantage to interview more than two. <br />Therefore, I would ask for direction from the Council as to how they would <br />prefer to conclude this matter. Two options I would offer for <br />consideration include: <br />1. Appointing a committee of the Council to work with me to <br />interview a selected number of firms based on a review of the <br />proposal material and bring a recommendation to the full Council. <br />2. Authorize me to proceed with the interview of the firms and bring <br />a recommendation to the full Council. <br />My preference would be for Option #1 in that Council input into this matter <br />should prove beneficial. I feel we can conclude this matter by August 10, <br />1994.
