515 Little Canada Road, Little Canada, MN 55117 -1600
(612) 484 -2177 / FAX: (612) 484 -4538
MEMORANDUM
TO: Mayor Hanson & Members of the City Council
FROM: Dave Harris, Public Works Superintendent
DATE: August 5, 1994
RE: Parking on County Road B2
MAYOR
Raymond G. Hanson
COUNCIL
Beverly Scalze
Jim LaValle
Steve Morelan
Bob Pedersen
ADMINISTRATOR
Joel R. Hanson
This summer we have received several complaints about parking on
County Road B2 from Arcade Street to just west of Dianna Lane on
the south side of the street. This area is posted as two hour
parking at this time. Trucks and trailers have been parking
their after launching their boats on Spoon Lake causing a traffic
hazard for pedestrians and vehicles due to the size of the
trailers.
I discussed this at length with Lieutenant Daly with the Ramsey
County Sheriff's Department. He in turn discussed it with
Commander Bergeron and the consensus from a safety standpoint
more than anything was that it should be posted as no parking due
to the site lines and the hill. I have also contacted Greg Mack
from Ramsey County Parks and Recreation. He did not take a firm
position on the matter. However, he did agree with the safety
issue.
At this time, I recommend that the Council pass a resolution
designating County Road B2 as no parking in the area where it is
currently two hour parking. The residents will be able to get
parking by permit as we do in other areas of the City. If you
have any questions, feel free to contact me at your earliest
convenience.
DBH:kpv
Page 23
