MINUTES
PLANNING COMMISSION
AUGUST 11, 1994
temporary nature and can be taken down and rolled up
for easy storage during the winter months.
Knudsen pointed out that unless this is differentiated
from a fence, the Commission cannot approve it.
A resident asked if it had to be called a fence.
The City Planner felt it fell under the definition of a
fence.
Garske recommended approval of the Conditional Use
Permit for special use fence to control access by geese
to townhome property at 175 East County Road B -2
conditioned that the fence be in place from April 1st
through October 30th of each year with the indication
that the Commission considers this to be a temporary
barrier for seasonal use like a snow fence or garden
fence with its intended purpose to keep geese out of a
yard area.
Motion seconded by Carson.
Motion failed with Garske and Davison voting in favor,
and DeLonais, Carson, Keis and Knudsen voting against.
It was the consensus of the Commission that since the
above motion failed, the CUP application was
automatically denied.
BOUNDARY LINE The City Planner indicated that he would have a report
FENCING on a boundary line fencing ordinance amendment for the
ORDINANCE next Commission meeting as well as on an ordinance
amendment prohibiting off -site temporary signs.
Keis recommended that the boundary line fencing
ordinance as well as temporary sign ordinance
amendments be tabled until the September meeting.
Motion seconded by Knudsen.
Motion carried 6 - 0.
COMMUNITY DeLonais reported that the Community Pride Committee
PRIDE met this morning and one of the areas that they will be
MEETING looking at is Rice Street and the permitted uses along
that street.
15
