515 Little Canada Road, Little Canada, MN 55117-1600
(612) 484 -2177 / FAX: (612) 484-4538
MEMORANDUM
MAYOR
Raymond G. Hanson
COUNCIL
Beverly Scalze
Jim LaValle
Steve Morelan
Bob Pedersen
ADMINISTRATOR
Joel R. Hanson
TO: Mayor Hanson & Members of the City Council
FROM: Joel Hanson, City Administrator
DATE: October 7, 1994
RE: Frank Frattalone Petition for Sanitary Sewer Improvement
Attached is a petition received from Mr. Frattalone for sanitary
sewer improvements to his property located on Country Drive which
presently is the site for his recycling operation. He would like
to have sanitary sewer extended to that site to serve the
building he is proposing to construct in the near future. This
building would be located in the vicinity of the southeast corner
of the property. Mr. Frattalone would be the only benefitted
property owner. Therefore, he has a 100% petition.
One point of information that the Council should be aware of is
that Frank feels the City should pay the cost to bring the sewer
line up to Country Drive. He would then pay the cost for any
crossings and subsequent connections. Given the location of the
sanitary sewer line in that area, there would be some costs to
the City to bring it from the rear of the A -1 Hydraulics property
out to Country Drive.
It would be my recommendation that we authorize the City Engineer
to prepare a feasibility study. This would be conditioned on the
understanding that we will have to address cost allocation at the
point that an accurate estimate is available for our
consideration.
Should you have any comments or questions regarding this matter,
please let me know.
JRH:kpv
cc: Jerry Bourdon, City Engineer
Frank Frattalone
Page 11
