cM - X1/4 cierzneak
515 Little Canada Road, Little Canada, MN 55117 -1600
(612) 484 -2177 / FAX: (612) 484 -4538
MEMORANDUM
TO: Mayor Hanson and Members of the City Council
FROM: Mary Granley
DATE: October 7, 1994
RE: Mechanical Permit Fee Schedule
MAYOR
Raymond G. Hanson
COUNCIL
Beverly Scalze
Jim LaValle
Steve Morelan
Bob Pedersen
ADMINISTRATOR
Joel R. Hanson
With the addition of Gene Pakoy as our Mechanical Inspector, it has been brought to
our attention that our fee schedule is considerably lower in comparison to
surrounding communities. A survey conducted with eight nearby cities has confirmed
our fees are outdated.
We respectfully propose an increase in Mechanical Permit fees, based upon the
average fees of surveyed cities. Due to the variety of possible fee combinations
(based upon work being done) a copy of the survey, our current fee schedule, and a
proposed fee schedule are attached for your reference. Based upon an estimate of
110 Mechanical Permits generated per year, an additional $2200.00 would be added
to revenue.
It should also be noted that with the adoption of this proposal, our revenues and
expenses will be on approximately a breakeven position. Currently, expenses exceed
revenues in this area.
mbg
Enclosures
Page 18
