c14 i 9 ea a
515 Little Canada Road, Little Canada, MN 55117 -1600
(612) 484 -2177 / FAX: (612) 484 -4538
December 12, 1994
TO: Residents of the Dianna Lane Neighborhood
FROM: Joel R. Hanson, City Administrator
RE: Retaining Walls at Entrance to Dianna Lane
MAYOR
Raymond G. Hanson
COUNCIL
Beverly Scalze
Jim LaValle
Steve Morelan
Bob Pedersen
ADMINISTRATOR
Joel R. Hanson
The City is looking at options for improvement of the retaining
walls at the entrance to Dianna Lane due to their deteriorating
condition. Two options are being considered. The first is to
remove the existing walls and replace them with a one -to -one
slope which would be planted with low maintenance materials. The
second option includes replacement of the existing walls with
either a timber or stone wall system. In either case, the City
Council has stated the City will bear the full cost of the
project with no assessment to your neighborhood.
The City Council will be discussing this matter at their
Wednesday, December 21st meeting. The item should come up for
discussion at approximately 9:30 P.M.
During the Council meeting the City Engineer will present cost
estimates for all the options under consideration. The
advantages and disadvantages of each alternative will also be
discussed. Staff, on the recommendation of our landscape
architect, will likely recommend the one -to -one slope option.
Since this improvement impacts your neighborhood, we would like
to invite you to attend this meeting and provide your input.
cc: Jerry Bourden, City Engineer
Page 140
