EULER PARKWAY WATER MAIN IMPROVEMENTS Citizen information Meet November 28, 1994 7;00 nm PROJECT SUMMARY Scope: To install water main within Keller Parkway, Lakeside Court and Arcade Street (see attached figure). Cost: Revenue: Direct Cost to residents (assessments) City costs = $188,600 = $151,400 The City has recently adopted a new water main assessment policy which limits assessments to approximately $4,600 for each buildable lot. The option of deferred assessments is available for senior citizens, retired disabled homeowners and for spillable lots without an existing structure. PURPOSE The purpose of the project is to provide municipal water service to properties adjacent to Keller Parkway, Lakeside Court and Arcade and to "loop" the water distribution system. Benefits include residential water supply and improved fire protection. WHY NOW? The County plans to resurface Keller Parkway in 1995. By coordinating the water main installation with the County's resurfacing, an opportunity is created to install a water main at a most feasible and cost effect time. It is an opportune time because the best location for the water main is beneath the pavement. If the water main is not installed in conjunction with the road resurfacing it may be over 20 years before the main can be installed without having to incur the cost of reconstructing the pavement. By avoiding the cost of pavement replacement, the project cost is reduced by approximately $100,000.
