Hanson Enclosed for your consideration are the following documents: * Proposed lease between the City and the Fire Department for the new fire station at 325 East Little Canada Road. This lease was prepared by the City Attorney and is in a form which the Fire Department finds acceptable. It is a 50 year lease which provides the Fire Department with control over use of the building. The City will be responsible for insuring the building and grounds, and maintenance of landscaping including snow removal activities. The lease does include a provision that if the Fire Department ceases to provide fire services to the City, the lease will terminate on December 31st of the year that service is discontinued. The lease also includes the personal property purchased by the City through bond proceeds as part of the fire station construction project. (Exhibit "B ") * Quit Claim Deed from the Fire Department to the City on the old fire station. This will convey any interest they have in the property to the City including cancellation of the existing lease agreement. * A letter from the Fire Chief indicating their proposed transfer of personal property which currently exists in the old fire station. As you will note, the City does not obtain possession of this equipment, but the transfer as proposed should be workable for us as building owners. It is my opinion that these three documents address the outstanding issues on these property questions in a satisfactory manner. I would therefore recommend they be approved as presented.
