515 Little Canada Road, Little Canada, MN 55117 -1600
(612) 484 -2177 / FAX: (612) 484 -4538
MEMORANDUM
TO: Mayor Hanson & Members of the City Council
FROM: Dave Harris, Public Works Superintendent
DATE: November 4, 1994
RE: Parking on First Bank Drive
MAYOR
Raymond G. Hanson
COUNCIL
Beverly Scalze
Jim LaValle
Steve Morelan
Bob Pedersen
ADMINISTRATOR
Joel R. Hanson
Attached with this memo is a map showing the area where Public
Works is proposing to post "no parking" on First Bank Drive for
the following reasons:
* Throughout the year, semi - trailers park there. Some
are from moving companies and others from trucking
companies. The tractors drop off the trailers and pick
them up the following day or occasionally later in the
week. As the trailers are parked in this one -block
stretch, pads which are lowered to the ground are
causing extensive damage to the pavement.
* In the winter when the trailers are left for days at a
time, it impedes snow removal.
The surrounding streets (Market Place Drive, Middle Street, and
First Bank Drive from Rice Street to Middle Street) are already
posted "no parking ". There should be no negative impact on the
bowling alley as there has not been any parking on First Bank
Drive when there have been large crowds in attendance at Saxon
Lanes.
If you have any questions regarding this recommendation, please
feel free to contact me at your earliest convenience.
DBH:kpv
Enclosure
Page 73
