Wilson <br />Executive Director <br />subject: Committee Recommendation on Municipal Grants <br />This year we received six applications for funding from the <br />Commission's Municipal Grant Program: <br />Arden Hills, S7 500 -- The city wants to pay a producer to edit video <br />footage from three public meetings into a single public information program. <br />Lithe Canada. $5,000 -- Purchase of an interactive character generator <br />(similar to that used on Channel 62). <br />Mounds View, *6,598 -- Purchase of an interactive character generator. <br />North Oaks, $3,000 -- To be applied toward purchase of various equipment, <br />including a one -chip camcorder, a portable effects switcher, a new <br />character generator, and an SVHS edit system. <br />Roseville, $9,425 -- To be applied to half the cost of a fifth camera for the <br />Council Chambers and a little over half the cost of a JVC GY -X2 camcorder <br />(matching the cameras in the vans). <br />Shoreview, $19,500 -- For two interactive character generator systems, one <br />for internal use and one for the government access channel. <br />A committee consisting of Jerry Wallin, Clarence Ranallo and Barbara <br />Jeanetta reviewed the proposals and met via conference call on October 27 to <br />discuss their selections. Their recommendation is that the Commission award the <br />following amounts: <br />Arden Hills -- 53,000, contingent on receipt of the resolution on the <br />use of franchise fees (with no modifications), approved by the City <br />Council, and payable upon receipt of invoice(s). <br />Page 4 <br />
