_r AN — 94 TUE 1 S3 : S5 E. BONE =: TRO'j Sr, AC: COC I ATES
TO: Joel Hanson
FROM: Mike Lynch
DATE: January 25, 1994
RE: Single Frontage Water Main Policy
Policy Review Comments
In reviewing your submittal to the Council dated January 1,
1994, brings to mind the following concerns that must be
addressed In finalizing a water main policy.
* I too feel that Option #3 is the most workable.
* Please note type error under item 3 on page 144. Edgerton
assessment rate was $3.24 per lineal foot? Also, add what
length lot frontage the assessment rate was based on.
* Edgerton W.M. project was assessed 50% on front foot and
50% on a lot basis. Do we assess an a front foot basis,
lot basis or combination of the two?
* Can the City afford a policy that(will)cost the City in the
area of $650,000 over the next 5 to 10 years. An increase
in water rates may have to be considered.
* The policy should clarify that it is required that water
main to serve undeveloped property be looped unless
exempted by the City.
* How would the Church property at the intersection of Viking
Drive and Edgerton be assessed?
Page 3
e-G
