<br />"Subd. 3b. Jobseeker fare not a social fare.
<br />The reduced fare for jobseekers under subdivi-
<br />sion 3a is not a social fare for which the commis-
<br />sion may receive reimbursement under section
<br />174.24, subdivision 4."

<br />Section 124 of Laws 1985, 1st Sp., c. 10, pro-
<br />vides that this amendment applies in Anoka,
<br />Carver, Dakota, Hennepin, Ramsey, Scott and
<br />Washington Counties.

<br />473.409. Agreements with commission; encouragement of transit use
<br />A state department or agency, including the legislative branch, any local governmental
<br />unit, the metropolitan council, or other metropolitan agency may enter into an agreement
<br />with the transit commission and other' operators for the purpose of encouraging the use
<br />of transit by its employees residing in the metropolitan area. The agreement may provide
<br />for, among other things: (a) the advance purchase of tokens, tickets or other devices from
<br />the commission or other operator for use in lieu of fares on vehicles operated by the
<br />commission or other operator, and (b) special transit service for employees to and from
<br />their place of employment, at fares to be agreed upon by the contracting parties. The
<br />tokens, tickets, or other devices or services may be made available to employees at
<br />reduced rates. Any such agreement and arrangement by a state department or agency
<br />shall be submitted to the commissioner of administration for approval before execution.
<br />Any operating deficits or subsidy resulting from such agreements shall be assumed by
<br />the contracting department, agency, governmental unit, council, or other commission,
<br />unless otherwise provided in an agreement approved by the transit board.

<br />Historical and Statutory Notes
<br />1984 Amendment Substituted "an agree-
<br />ment approved by the transit board" for "the
<br />agreement" at the end of the last sentence.
<br />Laws 1984, c. 654, art. 3, § 154, provided that
<br />this amendment was effective August 1, 1984, in
<br />the counties of Anoka, Carver, Dakota, Henne-
<br />pin, Ramsey, Scott, and Washington.
<br />1986 Amendment Laws 1986, a 460, § 58
<br />provides that existing plans and development
<br />programs of the council and affected agencies
<br />will remain in effect until they are expressly
<br />superseded by plans adopted in accordance with
<br />this act
<br />Laws 1986, c. 460, § 60 provides that the 1986
<br />amendment applies in the counties of Anoka,
<br />Carver, Dakota, Hennepin, Ramsey, Scott, and
<br />Washington.
