As a result, it would be my recommendation that we revise the
water service charge to entities not connected to the City water
system, but which have water available, to a maximum of three SAC
units. For further clarification, connection to the City water
system for sprinkler service would result in the water service
charge being based on the total number of SAC units.
Furthermore, the agreement with the two trailer parks enacted by
the Council in 1982 would also remain in effect. Therefore, the
car wash at 2600 Rice Street would see a reduction in their
quarterly charge from the present amount of $159.84 to $39.96.
It should further be stated that the basis for three units as the
maximum relates to a triplex which is not connected to City
water. Therefore, these provisions are consistent.
Lastly, I would also recommend that we rebate the owners of the
car wash at 2600 Rice Street for three quarters of this charge
(second - fourth, 1993) given the fact that they had made this
request last summer and I informed them that if the changes are
implemented, I would attempt to have them made retroactive to the
point they raised the issue. This results in a rebate to them of
$359.64.
JRH:kpv
3
PAGE 19
