The amendment
suggests that the City adopt a minimum width for any single family
home. It was brought to staff's attention this past week that the
Zoning Ordinance, as a part of Ordinance No. 223, February 22,
1984, adopted a minimum width for "Mobile Homes and Manufactured
Homes" of twenty two feet. It is our understanding that any
Standard applying to manufactured housing is to apply equally to
single family "site- built" homes, according to state law.
As a result, we believe that this Ordinance would help give
validity to the manufactured housing standard by establishing the
minimum width requirement to apply to all single family homes, not
just one class of homes. The Ordinance does not invalidate any of
the City's other requirements for either site -built or manufactured
housing.
cc: Kathy Glanzer
Tom Sweeney
5775 Wayzata Blvd. • Suite 555 St, Louis Park, MN 55416 • (612) 595- 9636•Fax. 595 -9837
TOTAL P.01
Page 5
