Hanson <br />The City is in receipt of a petition containing 455 signatures <br />requesting that the speed limit on Country Drive be increased <br />from 30 mph to 40 mph. That petition notes that the speed limits <br />on County Road C, County Road D, Centerville Road and Edgerton <br />Street are 40 mph. <br />As you may recall, in May of 1992 the Council took action to <br />increase the speed limit on Country Drive from 30 mph to 35 mph. <br />Earlier in the year the City had requested that MN DOT study the <br />area and make a recommendation on the appropriate speed for the <br />street. MN DOT recommended a speed of 35 mph provided that <br />appropriate advance curve and warning signs as well as speed <br />signs be installed. <br />Then in July of 1992, Council rescinded that action based on the <br />recommendation of the Sheriff's Department, Public Works and <br />input from residents of the area.
