MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
OCTOBER 23, 2013
SCHOOL
DISTRICT
ELECTION
RESCHEDULE
NOVEMBER 27
COUNCIL
MEETING
AMEND
COMMISSION
ORDINANCES
Mayor Blesener reminded the general public that the School District
Election will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2013. All three precincts
will be open within Little Canada, so unlike recent past School District
Elections, voters go to their assigned precinct.
The City Administrator reported that the second Council meeting is the
evening before Thanksgiving, and asked if the Council wanted to
reschedule that meeting as has been done in the past.
Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 2013 -10 -199 — RESCHEDULING THE
NOVEMBER 27, 2013 COUNCIL MEETING TO MONDAY,
NOVEMBER 25, 2013 AT 7:30 P.M.
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Montour.
Ayes (5).
Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted.
The City Clerk reported the both the Planning Commission and the Parks
& Recreation Commission have reviewed the final draft of the updates to
the Commission ordinances. The Clerk noted that both Commissions had
additional discussion relative to term limits and when those limits would
become effective. The Council discussed this issue, and the consensus
was that those Commissioners whose terms are expiring at the end of 2013
and who would be subject to term limits at that time, would have the
opportunity to apply for, and, if appointed, would be eligible to serve one
more three -year term. This exemption would not extend past 2013.
Montour introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 2013 -10 -200 — ADOPTING THE AMENDMENTS
TO THE PLANNING COMMISSION ORDINANCE AND THE
PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION ORDINANCE AS
SUBMITTED BY CITY STAFF WITH THE EXCEPTION THAT
THOSE COMMISSIONERS THAT HAVE TERMS EXPIRING AT
THE END OF 2013 AND ARE SUBJECT TO TERM LIMITS WOULD
BE ELIGIBLE TO APPLY FOR ONE ADDITIONAL TERM
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Boss.
Ayes (5).
Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted.
13
