51.5 Little Canada Road, Little Canada, MN 55117 -1600
(651) 766 -4029 / FAX: (651) 766 -4048 ADMINISTRATOR
www.ci.little- canada.mn us Joel R. Hanson
MAYOR
Bill Blesener
COUNCIL
Rick Montour
John Keis
Michael McGraw
Shelly Boss
MEMORANDUM
TO: Mayor Blesener and Members of the City Council
FROM: Jessica Jagoe, SCORE Grant Administrator
DATE: November 22, 2013
RE: 2014 Municipal SCORE Funding Grant Application
The City of Little Canada receives SCORE funding from Ramsey County Public Health
that is used to support our waste reduction and recycling- related activities /services in
Little Canada. The 2014 Municipal SCORE Grant available for Little Canada is
$20,408.00.
For 2014, the SCORE grant application had some modifications to the minimum
requirements an eligible city must perform for communication of recycling to their
community. City staff is reviewing these requirements and is working with Ramsey
County to ensure our current recycling practices fulfill these conditions.
The deadline for submitting the grant application with the County is December 1, 2013.
Based on questions still being reviewed by the County, city staff does not have the grant
application completed for the agenda. It should be noted that city staff also does not
foresee any issues or concerns due to these changes. Therefore, city staff is
recommending the Council authorize approval for submission of the SCORE grant
application by the City Administrator.
