Manson
The ownership of Thunder I3ay Plaza and Round Lake Plaza is currently working on plans to
renovate these complexes. Part of the renovation involves preparing a space for a tenant that
would like to be located at the east end of Thunder Bay Plaza. A portion of this space is
currently occupied by The hookah Hideout. The plan would be to then relocate The I lookah
I Iideout to space in Round Lake Plaza.
David Nelson, Hookah Hideout, has requested clarification that this move will not impact his
Tobacco Store License. I have attached a copy of the Tobacco Ordinance which has a provision
stating that the sampling exemption applies to licenses that were in effect at their current location
for at least six months prior to enactment of the exemption provisions. As a result, staff is
requesting clarification of this issue. Stair is recommending that given Hookah Hideout would
be relocating within the same complex and at the request of ownership to facilitate of renovation
of this complex, their current license would remain in effect with the exemption provisions still
in effect.
1
