MINUTES <br />AMEND <br />PUD — <br />3213 COUNTRY <br />DRIVE — <br />PALLET <br />SERVICES <br />CORPORATION <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />DECEMBER 12, 2013 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Planning <br />Commission of Little Canada, Minnesota was held on the 12th day of <br />December, 2013 in the Council Chambers of the City Center located at <br />515 Little Canada Road in said City. <br />Chair Dan Knudsen called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. and the <br />following members of the Planning Commission were present at roll call: <br />PLANNING COMMISSION: Mr. Dan Knudsen <br />Mr. Scott Barraclough <br />Mr. Tom Duray <br />Mr. "I'om Fischer <br />Ms. Jennifer Maleitzke <br />Ms. Heidi Murphy <br />Mr. Nick Schwalbach <br />ALSO PRESENT: <br />Mr. Steve Grittman, City Planner <br />Mr. Kevin Helander, Cable TV <br />Ms. Kathy Glanzer, City Clerk <br />The November 14, 2013 Planning Commission meeting minutes were <br />approved as submitted. <br />Robert and Nicholas Wenner, Pallet Services Corporation, appeared <br />before the Commission requesting approval of an Amendment to the <br />existing Planned Unit Development (PUD) Permit at 3213 Country <br />Drive for the permanent outdoor storage of construction materials. <br />Robert Wenner informed the Commission that their business has been <br />growing more rapidly than anticipated, and they now have about 30 <br />employees at the site. Consequently, they are trying to deal with extra <br />volumes of materials, which necessitates an Amendment to their PUD <br />Permit. The current PUD Permit allows approximately 60,000 square feet <br />in outdoor storage and allows storage piles up to 14 feet high. The <br />original request was for 20 foot high piles, but Wenner indicated that <br />based on the discussion a couple of years ago, they reduced their request. <br />Wenner noted that the outdoor storage is screened, pointing out the 180 <br />foot long three -sided building on the north side of their property. <br />Wenner reported that in addition to asking to increase storage pile heights <br />to 20 feet, they are asking for approximately 12,000 square feet more <br />
