Surfacing. <br />(I) All parking area plans shall be submitted to the city and are subject <br />to the review and approval of the Building Official. The Building <br />Official may refer the plans to other City staff for review. <br />(2) Driveway construction requires a permit, as established by Chapter <br />821 of the Little Canada City Code. <br />(3) All areas intended to be utilized for parking space accessory to <br />commercial, industrial, and attached housing, including associated <br />driveways, shall be paved with asphalt, bituminous, modular <br />pavers, or concrete to control dust and drainage. Other paving <br />materials may be approved by the City Council. <br />(4) For construction of new single family homes (including <br />reconstruction of any home in which estimated construction cost is <br />equal to, or greater than, the assessed valuation of the existing <br />building) in all R -1 and R -2 districts, areas intended to be used for <br />vehicle parking spaces and driveways shall comply with the paving <br />requirement in Section 903.050.D.8.k.(3) of this Ordinance. <br />(5) Paving of any existing unpaved driveway shall be required at the <br />time of construction of a new garage with access to the public <br />street. <br />(6) Paving of any existing unpaved driveway shall be required at the <br />time of any driveway construction or reconstruction subject to the <br />permitting regulations of this section. <br />(7) Parking areas and driveways for existing garages and /or homes <br />shall in all cases be surfaced with a material suitable to control dust <br />and drainage, minimizing erosion or siltation in the public street <br />and /or stormwater system. A covering permitting growth of grass <br />or weeds in the R -1 or R -2 Districts does not constitute an <br />acceptable surfacing material. <br />38 <br />
