FIRE RELIEF <br />BENEFIT <br />FUNDING <br />MINUTES OF THE WORKSHOP MEETING <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />DECEMBER 11, 2013 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a workshop meeting of the City <br />Council of Little Canada, Minnesota was convened on the llth day of <br />December, 2013 in the Council Chambers of the City Center located at <br />515 Little Canada Road in said City. <br />Mayor Bill Blesener called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. and the <br />following members of the City Council were present at roll call: <br />CITY COUNCIL: Mayor <br />Council Member <br />Council Member <br />Council Member <br />ABSENT: <br />ALSO PRESENT: <br />Council Member <br />City Administrator <br />Finance Director <br />Parks & Rec. The <br />Administrator reported that he put together several funding scenarios that <br />take into account key issues such as asset balance, State Aid payment, <br />investment return, level of voluntary City contribution, and required City <br />contribution. The Administrator reviewed each of these scenarios in <br />detail, also noting that there are numerous other scenarios that could be <br />created. The Administrator pointed out that in a presentation made by <br />Chief Nyle Zikmund, Spring Lake Park - Blaine- Mounds View Fire <br />Department, Zikmund reported that they protected the city from required <br />contributions higher than the voluntary amounts agreed to. However, he <br />did not specify how they did that. The City Administrator said he only <br />sees two options: 1. reduce benefits or 2. build a reserve. The <br />
