For either of these, the Council should make <br />a finding as to the setback which is to be interpreted as the appropriate standard in such cases. <br />For instance;, the Council might make a finding that detached accessory buildings should not be <br />located in front of the principal building, that is, between the house and the street. This <br />interpretation would expand the setback requirement from "required front yard" to the definition <br />of "front yard ", which is any of the land area between the principal building and the street. Some <br />accessory buildings have been permitted in front of the house in the past, such as the Quam <br />accessory building.
